Our commitment to SR is demonstrated through our support of various social and environmental initiatives, including charitable fundraising, volunteering efforts, and environmentally sustainable practices. Our dedication to social responsibility reflects our core values and our mission to make a positive impact on the lives of those we serve and empowering the world.
Community Engagement and Education
We are passionate about raising awareness and promoting education about hearing and balance health within our local community. Through workshops, seminars, and partnerships with local organisations, such as HiKent, we strive to empower individuals with knowledge about hearing care, prevention, and the importance of early intervention.
Environmental Responsibility
Caring for our environment is integral to our social responsibility ethos. We try to implement sustainable practices in our clinic operations to minimise our ecological footprint. By reducing waste, conserving resources, and promoting eco-friendly initiatives, we strive to contribute to a healthier planet for present and future generations.
Access to Hearing Care for All
We are committed to ensuring that everyone has access to quality hearing care. We collaborate with charitable organisations and initiatives, like AVUK (Auditory Verbal UK), to extend our services to those who might otherwise face barriers to hearing and communication. Our support for AVUK is exemplified by our fundraising efforts, such as the successful climb of Ben Nevis, which raised over £1500 for their cause. We also are committed to help the charity with pro-bono assessment of children under their care.
Supporting Causes that Matter
We actively support causes that align with our values and contribute to the well-being of our community. Our partnerships with London and Kent Hearing charities demonstrate our dedication to making a positive impact beyond the walls of our clinic. From participating in charitable events to fundraising for local initiatives, we're dedicated to making a difference. We also support some initiatives abroad in countries like India.

From Prayer to Possibility: Elliot's Hearing Journey From UK to Peru
As a Consultant Audiologist at Audiology Planet, I have had the privilege of helping many people with hearing difficulties over the years. However, some stories stay with you because they demonstrate what can be achieved when faith, generosity and determination come together. One such story is that of Elliot, a young man from Peru.
The journey began in August 2023 when our family friend and neighbour, Deborah Munns, welcomed her long-standing Christian friend Rocio to Tonbridge. Rocio had previously worked with Deborah’s church, Christ Church URC Tonbridge, many years earlier and was visiting from Peru.
During a chance conversation across our gardens about the training of a Peruvian team I was involved at the time, Deborah mentioned that Rocio’s nephew, Elliot, was struggling with hearing difficulties. At the time, it was simply a conversation and nothing further was planned.
However, Deborah could not stop thinking about Elliot’s situation after Rocio returned home. Following prayer and reflection, she contacted me and asked whether there was any way I could help. It was Deborah’s initiative and persistence that set everything in motion.
I was already involved in the training of a team of Peruvian hearing care practitioners through a local business called Puretone. After discussing the situation with my colleague Akif Chowdhury at Puretone, we arranged for the Peruvian team to assess Elliot’s hearing.
The logistics were challenging. However, inspired by God’s work, the Peruvian team came through. They made a tremendous effort, for which I remain deeply grateful. The hearing care practitioner travelled several hours from the Peruvian coast to Tarapoto, while Elliot and his father, Daniel, travelled approximately two and a half hours from Moyobamba to attend the appointment.
Over the following weeks, the hearing assessment results were shared with me for review. The findings showed that Elliot had profound hearing loss in one ear while retaining very good hearing in the other. After carefully considering the options, I recommended an appropriate hearing solution that I believed would provide the greatest benefit for his educational and social development.
The next challenge was funding. Once again, Deborah became the driving force behind the project. She shared Elliot’s story with members of her church family (https://www.christchurchtonbridge.com/) in Tonbridge. The response was remarkable. Within hours, church members had pledged to help the cause. Their generosity was both humbling and inspiring.

What followed was a truly international effort.
Friends of Christ Church connected with Latin Link in Ireland kindly agreed to transport the device. After travelling from the UK, the hearing solution was delivered to Peru, where Rocio coordinated its onward journey to Elliot and his family.
When Elliot finally received the device, the joy and gratitude expressed by him and his family were overwhelming. What had started as a simple conversation between two neighbours in a garden had become a life-changing opportunity for a young man thousands of miles away. If this is not act of God what is?
Today, Elliot is pursuing a medical degree in Argentina and continues to build a bright future for himself. Knowing that a caring church community in Kent played a part in supporting his journey is incredibly rewarding. Inspired by the kindness he received, Elliot hopes one day to help others with medical needs, just as the church was able to help him through the efforts of people such as Deborah, her church family and myself.
While Audiology Planet, together with our partners at Puretone and in Peru, were pleased to provide professional expertise and support, this story belongs primarily to Deborah Munn, whose faith and determination never allowed Elliot’s need to be forgotten; to Rocio and Daniel, who trusted the process; and to the generous members of the Tonbridge church community, whose kindness turned an idea into reality.
For me, Team Elliot is a reminder that hearing care is about much more than technology. It is about people. It is about compassion. And sometimes, it is about a community coming together to answer a prayer.
I am deeply grateful to everyone who played a part in helping Elliot through this project: Elliot and his family; Deborah Munns and the Christ Church URC Tonbridge community; Akif and Baz Chowdhury, together with their colleagues at Puretone in Rochester; the dedicated Peruvian hearing care team; and my own staff, whose support made this possible.
Above all, I give thanks to Almighty God, whose guidance, provision and grace brought together so many people to help transform a young man’s future.
Anushruti Academy for the Deaf — Supporting Education of children with hearing impairment in India
We’re proud to support the Anushruti Academy for the Deaf (AAD), a remarkable school for deaf children based on the campus of one of the most illustrious academic institution in India i.e. Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee in Uttarakhand.
Founded in 1989, AAD educates around 90 children with hearing and speech impairments through a dedicated team of 12 teachers and special educators, supported by IIT Roorkee faculty, students and alumni.
Some of the ways the charity helps the children:
- Regular speech and language therapy and auditory training
- Audiological assessment and hearing aid management
- Vocational training of pupils for career development
The Anushruti school runs entirely on donations and CSR support, without government aid. Vocational training in computing, tailoring, carpentry, photography and more has been helping students into independent careers — AAD alumni now work in banks, government and private industry, and several run their own businesses.
